VISITING THE MINES

Exploring the underground

Discover the ancient mines of the Valdicecina

The potential of the mines of the Valdicecina has been known and promoted for centuries.
There is plenty of evidence indicating that the mineral richness of this land has been exploited since ancient times, with the extraction of rock salt, copper and alabaster dating back to the Etruscans’ time.
This side of the area’s culture was revealed thanks to the recovery of ancient tunnels and enhanced through the dedicated museum and itineraries.
