Podere La Regola

The winery is located in the southern corner of the Province of Pisa, just 5 km from the Tyrrhenian Sea, and nestled in the beautiful Cecina Valley, within the region of the Montescudaio DOC appellation.
The winery was founded in 1990 and is run by the brothers Luca and Flavio Nuti. It was not until the year 1997 that the winery began producing bottled wine and in 1998 they premiered their cru, “LA REGOLA”. The name of this wine is a tribute to their grandfather who planted the first vineyard on the two hectares of land he had purchased at the beginning of the 1900s in the area called La Regola, ......

within the township of Riparbella.
The winery today extends over 15 hectares and produces structured, full-bodied red wines made from Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot grapes (such as La Regola, Beloro, Vallino, Ligustro, Le Prode), and fragrant and persistent white wines made with Vermentino and Sauvignon grapes (Steccaia) and Chardonnay and Viognier grapes (Lauro), as well as dessert wine made from grapes that are left to dry before being pressed (Sondrete), grappa that is perfected in small wood barrels, and extra-virgin olive oil with very low acidity levels.
Podere La Regola is the premier winery in the Montescudaio DOC region and a founding member of the Associazione Grandi Cru della Costa Toscana.

La Regola vineyard is situated in the valley of the river Cecina about 5 kms from the Tyrrhenian coast (5kms from Montescudaio,30kms from Volterra and 15 kms from Bolgheri) between the provinces of Pisa and Livorno.
The vineyard is located within the Montescudaio DOC territory (one of the earliest DOC’s established in Italy in 1976-Dpr 02.11.1976) on the border of the Bolgheri DOC and the Pisan hill’s DOC.
