The grandeur of the 19th century and ancient weapons
Take a trip back in time, discover elegance contrasting the “profession of arms”
The Exhibition on Warriors and Artisans takes place in the historical rooms of Palazzo Ricci in Pomarance. It spreads through 6 rooms in order to best explore the time between the Palaeolithic and the Renaissance.
Many prestigious artifacts are on display in the exhibition, for instance the “Ciottolo di Lustignano”, a panel with the image of a bison engraved in it, one of the most ancient examples of prehistoric art found in Tuscany. Another valuable artifact is the Etruscan stela found in Pomarance dating back to the end of the 6th century b.C..
The other objects exhibited tell the stories, the customs and religious traditions of the communities that inhabited these places.
Next to Palazzo Ricci is Palazzo Bicocchi you can also visit the Museum Casa Bicocchi , which gives visitors an insight into the lives of a noble family in the 19th century.
