Parish Church of San Giovanni in Montevoltraio

known since the 9th century

It is the parish church of the castle of Montevoltraio, in the Palagione area, known since the 9th century. Today there are few remains that are difficult to read on the ground; from the decoration of these remains it can be understood that the church was rebuilt at the end of the 11th century or at the beginning of the following one. In particular, some large capitals, unfortunately recently stolen, and part of the masonry of the apse were preserved.
