LUPPIANO CASTLE

A beautiful tower

very well preserved

The castle is the most ancient among those reported in Valdicecina and consists of a tower surrounded by a stone wall.
The first document reporting it dates back to 954 and mentions the place as a simple tower. The tower, which today looks has been dated to the 13th century, still exists and is surrounded by a wall.

Many restoration works were carried out in the following centuries which changed its look, but both the tower and the wall are still in a good state of conservation.

It can be reached by car through the dirt road ‘Vicinale di Spicchiaiola and cannot be seen from the outside because it is a private property.
