A stunning tower
and its impressive conservation
The Luppiano Castle is the oldest one in the Valdicecina, and it’s made up of a tower surrounded by stone walls.
The first ever account of the castle dates back to 954, where it was referred to as a simple tower. The tower still exists, and it looks like it was built in the 1200s
In the centuries following its construction, the castle went through various restorations which changed the look of it a little bit, but which kept it all in great condition.
You can access it through the Spicchiaiola country road, but it’s not possible to visit on the inside because it’s private property.
