The Santissimo Salvatore Church
of medieval origin
It’s the most important church of the town of Castelnuovo Val di Cecina.
It was built in the Middle Ages inside an ancient castle, but the church we can see today is the result of two operations carried out in 1744 and 1760. It is made up of a single trussed nave and there’s a big stairway leading up to the entrance. An old cross dating back to the 1300s is kept in the church, together with some more recent artworks.
